Swegltek Armored Detachable Pure Fiber HDMI Cable | MPO Modular Design | 5–100m
Armored Optical Cable. Modular HDMI Connections.
The Swegltek Armored Detachable Pure Fiber HDMI Cable combines an optical signal path with an armored cable construction and separate MPO connection points. It is designed for AV projects where cable routing and physical protection both matter.
Protection Beneath the Cyan Jacket
A stainless steel spiral armor layer sits beneath the cyan outer jacket to provide additional mechanical protection for the optical cable. The finished cable retains its covered exterior: the exposed silver layer shown in the construction image is a cutaway illustration, not the appearance of an intact cable.
Optical transmission and metal armor have different roles. The optical fiber carries the signal; the armor protects the cable. This is an armored optical cable, not an entirely metal-free cable assembly.
Disconnect at the MPO Joint
The HDMI module stays attached to its pigtails. A blue optical pigtail ends at an MPO connector, which joins the main optical cable through a separate coupler. Disconnect at this optical joint when preparing the main cable for routing; do not open the HDMI housing.
Separate Auxiliary Power Leads
Each module has an independent black USB auxiliary power lead. This branch supplies auxiliary power where required and does not provide USB data connectivity. It remains separate from the blue optical pigtail.
For Planned AV Installations
- Professional AV: connect HDMI source and display equipment while keeping modular optical joints accessible.
- Meeting rooms: plan a clean cable route between an equipment area and a room display.
- Home cinema: route the main optical cable before reconnecting the HDMI module assemblies.
Construction Overview
| Brand | Swegltek |
|---|---|
| Video connectors | HDMI Type-A male |
| Main optical cable jacket | Cyan blue |
| Mechanical protection | Stainless steel spiral armor beneath the jacket |
| Optical pigtails | Blue, fixed to the HDMI modules |
| Auxiliary power leads | Black USB branches, fixed to the HDMI modules |
| Detachable connection | MPO connectors with separate couplers |
Installation Notes
- Test the complete assembly with your intended source and display before permanent installation.
- Identify the source and display modules and keep the connection points accessible.
- Disconnect at the MPO joint and protect the optical connector ends from contamination.
- Route the main cable through a conduit sized for the optical connector. Follow the supplied cable handling instructions.
- Reconnect the matched MPO components and provide auxiliary power where required.
Armor does not make a cable immune to damage. Avoid sharp bends, excessive pulling and concentrated pressure. Do not assume waterproof, direct-burial or fire-rating suitability without the corresponding product specification.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the armor visible on the finished cable?
No. It is covered by the cyan jacket. The cutaway image explains the construction.
Does pure fiber mean the complete cable contains no metal?
No. The optical transmission path uses fiber, while this version includes metal armor for protection.
Does the cable detach at the HDMI housing?
No. The HDMI module and its pigtails stay together. Detach at the separate MPO connection.
Can any MPO components be substituted?
Use matched components. Connector appearance alone does not establish optical compatibility or polarity.
Armor on the Optical Cable Sections
The cyan optical cable sections use an outer jacket over a spiral armor layer. The construction illustrations show the optical pigtail behind the HDMI module and the optical cable end behind the MPO connector. The black USB auxiliary power lead is a separate branch.
The silver spiral is shown through small illustrative windows to explain the construction. The finished jacket remains intact; the illustration does not indicate a bare metal section or a splice.
Protection and Connection Are Different
The optical fiber carries the signal, while the armor provides mechanical protection. This armored assembly contains metal protection and should not be described as entirely metal-free. Armor does not establish waterproofing, direct-burial suitability or a fire rating.
The detachable joint is the MPO connector and separate coupler. The HDMI module remains attached to its pigtails. Do not cut the jacket or disturb the armor to disconnect the cable.

Extend USB-C Video to a DisplayPort Display
The swegltek SCTD-1200 USB-C to DisplayPort active optical cable connects a compatible USB-C video
source to a DisplayPort monitor, projector or professional display. Its integrated cable design provides a
direct display connection for equipment layouts that need more distance between the source and screen.
4K Video at 60Hz
Support for video up to 4K at 60Hz makes this USB-C to DP cable suitable for clear presentations, digital
signage and professional visual content. The supported resolution and refresh rate depend on the source,
display and complete system configuration.
DisplayPort 1.2 Optical Transmission
With DisplayPort 1.2 support and link bandwidth up to 21.6Gbps, this active optical cable uses fiber for
high-speed signal transmission along the cable run. The bandwidth rating describes the DisplayPort link;
this product is intended for display connectivity.
Length Options from 5m to 50m
Choose a 5m, 7.5m, 10m, 15m, 20m, 25m, 30m, 35m, 40m, 45m or 50m USB-C to DisplayPort cable to suit
the installation route. Allow for cable routing, connector access and equipment position when selecting
your length. Contact swegltek for project quantities or other length requirements within the 5–50m range.
Designed for Professional Display Installations
Conference rooms: connect compatible USB-C presentation sources to DisplayPort displays.
Digital signage: place compatible media source equipment farther from the screen.
Workstations: position the computer away from the display area.
AV installations: plan longer point-to-point video and audio cable routes to compatible DP equipment.
Check Your USB-C Video Output
Connect the USB-C end to a source that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode and the DisplayPort end to the
display input. A USB-C connector alone does not guarantee video output. Confirm source and display
compatibility, installation direction and power requirements before ordering.
